This room has been one of my favorite projects so far! My clients were busy parents who wanted to turn their bedroom into a relaxing retreat but just didn't know where to start.
We started with pretty much a blank slate -- the bed was going to stay, but everything else needed a refresh! When meeting with them, I was able to get a good sense of their needs and style: they were looking for something comfortable and calm, with a little coastal/modern farmhouse style.
I started with a design board -- bringing together pictures for inspiration, along with sources for purchasing items and detailed suggestions for bringing the design together. Because we were looking for unique items for a good price, I ended up finding the bedding, lamps, and mirror at some of my favorite home stores!
The clients did the hard work of painting and hanging curtains, then we got to see the room start to come together! There are a few finishing touches left (the curtains will be hemmed and pressed), but with a new baby arriving any day for this family we wanted to go ahead and take some pictures to share!
A new, fresh paint color makes a huge difference, and the silvery-blue is the perfect background to layer more shades of blue. Another game changer: the nightstands. The drawers are perfect for hiding clutter and give the room a more sophisicated feel.
The lamps, mirror, and bedding are a great example of how you can find unique pieces on a budget and mix online and local purchases to make a cohesive design.
Now, the clients have a relaxing retreat that they enjoying spending time in!
Spring is right around the corner, and this is the perfect time to do some home projects before summer! Helping clients refresh their rooms inspires me to keep creating, and I'd love to help you with yours!
