I just got done photographing the living room of a friend who had asked for a color consultation. I met with her a few months ago because her living room color before was a little on the dark side, and she was looking to brighten things up. She specifically wanted a warm harvest gold and had picked up some paint swatches. Unfortunately, when you go to a store looking for paint colors, there are about a million to choose from, and not a single one looks the same at home as it did in the store! The biggest thing to look for in paint colors is undertones, and unless you look at paint samples all the time, they can be hard to see. None of the paint swatches she had were quite right, but starting fresh we found a new paint color in a matter of minutes!
She not only painted the living room, but she also used the fresh new look as motivation to add some accessories!
Here is the before:
And after -- so much brighter!
